New York Fashion Week AW 18/19 Trend - Fur

Looks like this fur thing is here to stay for another season. What are you going to do? One of the strongest trends that was shown in Fall 2018/2019 New York Fashion was fur. Whether it was faux fur or real fur (pretty sure real fur) it's clearly a trend that will be sticking around for now. I know I sound bitter but I promise I'm not. It's just that I live in the sunny and hot California, so what exactly am I going to do with this??

Anyway, next seasons fur trend isn't just your basic fur coats and that's what I appreciate about it. Fur, which can come off a bleh, despite the obvious lux, has been updated! Don't believe me? See what I mean!

Street Lux

This is one category I can get behind. We all know I love my hoodies and low key comfort. Anyways the normal “drippin’ in wealth” vibe you get when you see a fur coat is gone with this look. With short hair, relaxed cuts and primary colors these jackets can easily be envisioned walking down the street on an average day.

Seductively Posh

Because you have to keep it a little fancy still. This trend plays to the sexy mistress. Like if you were to wear a trench coat with nothing underneath and show up to your mans door...yea that, but instead you show up in a thick and luxurious fur coat.

Edgy Shearling

Another one of my tops. If you aren’t into the standard fur, this is the route you need to take. It’s less hassle and less likely to shed into your nose but you still feel like money because it’s fur. I can appreciate this seasons update because it’s not just used as a jacket lining anymore; it can get its own shine too.

Leather Combo

You can’t go wrong with leather. Nah that’s a lie, but I’m liking the fur and leather combination pieces though. There’s a soft and hard contrast that I can appreciate here, this is another style you can wear if full on lux fur isn’t your thing. The leather and fur combo is normally just a fur color on a jacket but switching it up this season, the leather becomes the contrast trim, making the fur the main focus.

Just a Trim

This is probably the California and hotter area interpretation of the trend! Yes fur can be cool but it’s not worth getting a heat stroke over! If you want to wear fur and live, use it as an accent or accessory and keep it minimal.

See what I mean?! It's not just your basic run of the mill fur jacket silhouette. ...Can fur be run of the mill? Anyways, your standard fur look has gotten a refreshing new look. I still think of money and opulence when I look at these furs, but the new vibes are much more minimal and come off more relatable.
